ANIMISM IN PRACTICE

"Jærtegn" comes from the Old Norse "jarteikn," where "Jar" means 'pure, genuine' and "teikn" means 'sign, omen'. In Nordic folklore, Jærtegn refers to an animistic practice where individuals interpret natural phenomena through symbolic language. These phenomena are often believed to convey messages or insights about the future or the individual's circumstances.
Through rituals and practical exercises, together and alone, we work towards greater insight using this animistic technique.

AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE, DELVING INTO THE DEPTHS OF OUR SENSES AND THE PROFOUND INSIGHTS OFFERED BY THE WISDOM OF NATURE
Drawing from the rich tapestry of Nordic folklore and animistic traditions, we will learn how to interpret these signs as messages from the nature , unlocking hidden truths and guiding us on our path.
Guided by the rhythms of the earth, through sound and silence, we will attune our senses to the subtle language of nature, opening ourselves to its profound teachings. Through a blend of nature therapy techniques, shamanic practices, drum journeys, song, and rituals, we will connect with the land and its inhabitants.
Moreover, we aim to harness the mystique of not only daylight and twilight but also the darkness of nighttime. How can we embrace and navigate the darkness when it obscures our vision?
This workshop offers a retreat-like experience, inviting you to seek answers, healing, or simply a deeper connection with nature.
It provides a sacred space where we can slow down, listen deeply, and commune with the wild and the ‘more-than-human’ beings - be it a tree, a rock, the ground beneath our feet, or the living spirits that often evade our awareness.
Together, we will deepen our relationship with ourselves, each other, and the non-human world.

The majority of our activities will take place outdoors, allowing us to fully embrace the power of nature. Camping outdoor is encouraged, providing an opportunity for a deeper immersion in the natural environment. However, we also have indoor facilities available for those who prefer indoor accommodation.
This workshop is open for English speakers.
Price: DKK 1700
Price includes meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, as well as coffee and tea) and outdoor camping.
Deposit: DKK 700 is required to secure your spot (Not refundable after April 1st, 2024).
The workshop has a limited number of seats to ensure a more deep experience.
